Features of prosteppers’ stepping motor
Accurate Position Control
The angular displacement of the stepping motor can be precisely controlled by the number of electric pulses. Angle accuracy can be controlled within ±0.09゜without any feedback devices.
Forward/Reverse Rotation, Pause and Hold
The forward/reverse rotation of the stepper motor can be controlled by the input sequence of the controlled electric pulses.
In case of a stepper motor lock (the motor winding is energized, there is no external electric pulse command), the stepper motor can still maintain a certain torgue output.
Longer life
Stepper motor is a mechanical structure, which does not need to be commutated by brush and Hall sensor, thus reducing the probability of failure and increasing the motor life. Stepping motor life
Classification of Stepping Motor
Usually reaction stepping motor is two-phase, torque and volume is small. Step angle is 7.5 degrees or 1.5 degrees.
Generally permanent magnet stepper motor is three-phase, it can finish high torque output, step angle is 1.5 degrees, but the noise and vibration is very strong. It has been eliminated in 80’s in Europe and other developed countries. Hybrid step motor combines advantages of permanent magnet type and reaction advantages. It is divided into two-phases, three-phase and five -phase: step angle of two-phase is 1.8degrees,instead step angle of five-phase is 0.72degree.For hybrid step motors, with the increasing of phase(Number of winding) ,step angle decreases, the precision will be raised. Hybrid step motors are widely used in applications.
